My Story

On Monday 2 May, Sir Mo Farah and I, and a few others, will be running 10km around the streets of Central London in the Vitality London 10,000, and I am asking for sponsorship in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal for Ukraine.  Why am I doing this?  You have only to watch the TV News every night to see graphic reports of the dangers and hardships facing both the millions of people who have fled their homes in Ukraine, and those that remain in their shattered cities.

DEC charities are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries meeting the needs of all refugees and displaced people.

£10 could provide essential hygiene supplies for two people for two weeks

£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month

Update  Thanks to all those generous people who have supported me so far, I have had to increase my target twice already.  It would be great if we could reach this new one.

New Update  Well, thanks to more amazing donors, we reached it, so I have increased it again.

Another update  With yet more generous donors in England, Germany and from the West to the East coast of Australia, I have now increased my target to £1000.  I am very grateful for this support, but the real winners will be the people of Ukraine.  Huge thanks to you all on their behalf.
